Doubleview Townhouse Development

The Brief: The Opportunity

Exploring the potential of a well-positioned Doubleview site.

The project began as an opportunity to test how a contemporary townhouse development could respond to a compact suburban site while still providing generous, comfortable homes.

The brief called for a design that felt premium without being overstated. Strong street appeal, practical internal layouts, natural light and a clear sense of privacy were central to the concept from the outset.

The site also required careful consideration of access, overlooking, setbacks and the relationship between the proposed homes and the surrounding neighbourhood.

The xtrude Approach: Design Through Consultation

Shaping a considered concept through design and early-stage advice.

xtrude developed the initial design direction and worked through the key planning, feasibility and site considerations that would influence the project.

The layout was refined to balance internal amenity with the practical requirements of townhouse development. Particular attention was given to vehicle access, private open space, natural light and the way each home presented to the street.

The consultation stage allowed the development potential of the site to be properly tested before any commitment was made to construction.

The Outcome: A Fully Explored Design Concept

A clear development vision, taken through design and consultation.

The Doubleview Townhouse Development remained at the design and consultation stage and did not proceed to construction.

Even so, the project established a strong and commercially considered concept for the site. It demonstrated how thoughtful planning and a disciplined architectural approach could create a premium residential outcome within an established suburban setting.

The completed design work provided a clear understanding of the site’s opportunities, constraints and potential development pathway.
