East Cannington Residences

The Brief: The Opportunity

Creating two considered homes from a single site.

The East Cannington project began with a straightforward opportunity: transform an underutilised residential block into two well-planned homes positioned side by side.

The aim was to create a development that made efficient use of the land without sacrificing comfort, privacy or street appeal. Each home needed to feel independent, offer practical living spaces and meet the everyday needs of modern households.

A restrained architectural approach was chosen to give the homes a clean, contemporary identity while remaining well suited to the surrounding neighbourhood.

The xtrude Approach: Practical Design, Carefully Delivered

Maximising the site without overcomplicating the outcome.

The site planning was developed around simplicity, functionality and efficient use of space. Positioning the homes side by side allowed each residence to have a clear street presence, private access and a strong sense of ownership.

Internally, the layouts were designed to support comfortable everyday living, with open-plan areas, natural light and clear separation between shared and private spaces.

The exterior combines simple roof forms, contrasting finishes and warm timber elements to create a modern appearance with lasting appeal.

The Outcome: Two Homes, One Cohesive Development

A completed infill project designed for everyday living.

The completed East Cannington development delivers two modern homes that sit comfortably together while maintaining their own individual identity.

By replacing a single underutilised property with two well-considered residences, the project achieved a more effective use of the site and introduced new housing within an established suburb.

The result is a practical and visually cohesive development that balances build efficiency, liveability and long-term market appeal.
